WHO Representative awarded lifelong membership of the Pakistan Academy of Family Physicians

Dr Mohammad Assai Ardakani, WHO Representative in PakistanDr Mohammad Assai Ardakani, WHO Representative in Pakistan22 February 2018 –The Pakistan Academy of Family Physicians has awarded lifelong membership of the Pakistan Academy to Dr Mohammad Assai Ardakani, WHO Representative in Pakistan, in recognition of his meritorious services in initiating the family practice programme in 12 model districts of Pakistan and for the tremendous support provided by WHO to medical universities for strengthening family medicine departments in 2017.

While thanking the Pakistan Academy of Family Physician, Dr Assai expressed his gratitude and said that the award was a result of WHO's contribution to strengthening the family practice programme in 2017 and not the contribution of a soul individual.

“It is WHO as an organization and my staff in health system strengthening who have given me this opportunity and increased WHO's visibility in issues related to service delivery. This award belongs to all of us at the WHO country office in Pakistan and I am very proud of my team who work tirelessly to assist and implement planned activities to achieve a healthier Pakistan.
