As trauma needs escalate in west Mosul more ambulances are deployed

25 April 2017, Erbil, Iraq – As military operations reach the densely populated parts of Mosul city, a significant increase in the number of war-related casualties is anticipated. Ensuring timely transport from the frontlines to trauma stabilization points and field hospitals is critical to saving civilian lives. WHO, with logistics support from the World Food Programme, has airlifted 15 fully-equipped ambulances for deployment to trauma stabilization points in west Mosul and field hospitals, to add to the 15 delivered two weeks ago.
