The Red Trunk Library is a mini (mobile) library kit containing an up-to-date wide selection of over 100 publications on major health topics that are related to public health and emergency/disaster management, practical manuals, guidelines and training manuals. This mobile library is intended to reach remotes areas, providing health staff at all levels with tools to prepare for, and deal with, issues related to public health and emergencies.

The library has continued its support to the Red Trunk Library for emergencies, in collaboration with the emergency, preparedness and humanitarian action programme by finalizing the preparations process for 17 red trunk libraries in order to be ready to send to country offices in early 2012.
