Universal health coverage:

everyone, everywhere

The theme of this year’s World Health Day is ‘Universal health coverage: everyone, everywhere’ under the slogan ‘Health for All’. WHO is founded on the principle that it is the right of everyone to enjoy the highest attainable standard of health.

This year marks WHO’s 70th anniversary, and the 40th anniversary of the Alma Ata Declaration on Health for All, which identified primary health care as the key to attaining the goal of Health for All.

Health for All is the impetus behind the current Organization-wide drive to support countries in moving towards universal health coverage.
