Workshop for essentials of supply chain management

23 November, 2017, Tripoli – As part of the European Union-funded WHO project “Strengthening the health information system and medical supply chain management” a capacity-building workshop on the essentials of supply chain management was conducted in Libya. 

The training took place between 19 and 23 November 2017 at the National Centre for Disease Control in Tripoli. 

The 22 participants included operational personnel from all regions of Libya; Benghazi, Tobruk, Sabha and Tripoli. Representatives were from various hospitals, Libyan FDA, the ministry of health and branches of the NCDC. All were involved in aspects of the medical supply chain and were committed to improving access to medical supplies in Libya. 

WHO experts will be conducting intensive training tailored to the Libyan context informed by the situational analysis assessment that was completed. 

It is intended that participants would return back to their place of work to train and share material provided during the workshop. The SHAMS project is committed to enhancing capacity at all levels of the medical supply chain.
