WHO sends medical aid in response to urgent humanitarian needs in Derna

Derna_NCD_supplies19 June 2018, Libya – The World Health Organization (WHO) has delivered 2 kits of noncommunicable disease (NCD) medicines to Derna health authorities.

An NCD kit is a pre-packed set of essential medicines to meet the initial primary health needs of 10 000 people for 3 months in emergencies. This will cover the urgent needs for patients with hypertension and cardiac conditions, diabetes and some endocrine conditions, respiratory diseases, and mental health conditions.

Dr Jaffar Hussain, WHO Representative to Libya, expressed WHO's appreciation of the financial support from the Central Emergency Response Fund.
