First training of end-users at facility level on the district health information system

14 October 2018 – The Health Information Centre, Ministry of Health, in partnership with World Health Organization (WHO), UNICEF and the International Organization for Migration (IOM), started training of statistic staff at facility levels on the district health information system (DHIS2), from 8 to 10 October 2018. The first end-user training workshop was held at the Health Information Centre, Tripoli. The workshop was attended by 20 data entry personnel’s representing 14 hospitals, 2 polyclinics, 2 kidney dialysis centres, one referral laboratory and one blood bank.

The Health Information Centre, in partnership with WHO, UNICEF and IOM in the coming weeks will begin a series of 3-day training sessions in 8 different geographical areas. The series of workshop will be facilitated by 8 teams consisting of 6 well trained master trainers in each team. The target is to train one data entry personnel from each public health facility. A total of 89 training sessions of 3 dayss are planned in 40 different cities covering 1817 facilities of the 101 municipalities.

The DHIS-2 will improve the frequency and quality of data and will guide programme managers and municipality directors through tailored dashboards, charts, pivot tables and maps on the health situation. The quality timely availability of information will enable decision-makers to respond to health needs of the ailing population.
