A three days strategic planning workshop on eye health was organized by the Ministry of Health and the national centre for disease control in collaboration with the WHO country office in Libya and the Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean international agency for prevention of blindness. The workshop was held at the premises of the national centre for disease control in Libya from 10 to 12 June 2013.
Participants included ophthalmologists, directors of eye hospitals, optometrists, health administrators, research workers and representatives from the private sector. The workshop sessions were designed to review the current available data on the status of eye health, human resources, and services and facilities for eye health in Libya.
