Under the theme of ‘Pharmacy education in the era of globalisation’, the College of Pharmacy and Nursing of University of Nizwa in Oman organized a three days international conference from 24 to 26 January 2012. The conference brought together world's top educators of pharmacy to discuss past, recent, and prospective advances in the field of pharmacy education. 

The conference sessions provided a medium for participants to share their experiences, learn novel techniques and new advances. Discussion topics included: disease-state management, pharmaceutical care, professional development, extemporaneous pharmaceutical compounding, pharmacology education, drug discovery, standardisation of herbal products, qualitative and quantitative estimation of natural products, pharmaceutical technology, biopharmaceutics and pharmacokinetics, drug delivery, clinical research.
