Consultation on developing strategic directions for salt and fat reduction, 28–29 November 2012

The World Health Organization Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean conducted a consultation on developing strategic directions for salt and fat reduction in the Eastern Mediterranean Region to be held at WHO premises, Cairo, Egypt, on 28 and 29 November 2012.

The objectives of the consultation were to:

  • review the regional evidence on salt and transfat reduction
  • set up strategic directions on salt and transfat reduction in the Region and develop an action plan for implementation
  • identify the technical support needed in the Region to enable the Member States to implement the action plan.
