WHO provides essential medical supplies to Derna hospital funded by ECHO

Supplies_provided_to_Derna_hospital19 March 2018, Tunis – In the context of the ongoing response to the crisis in Derna, the World Health Organization (WHO) has provided Derna Hospital with 148 saline infusion boxes which contain about 2800 bottles of saline infusion sets.

These supplies funded by the European Union Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid (ECHO) are considered as life-saving medicine and are much needed, especially with the shortage of essential medical supplies in Derna city.  

Dr Syed Jaffar Hussain, WHO Representative in Libya, expressed his sincere appreciation of the continuous support of ECHO which makes WHO’s efforts in the response to the urgent needs of the underserved populations in Libya possible.
