Under the patronage of Dr Nuriedden Doguman, Minister of Health, Libya celebrated the second global immunization week and the fourth regional vaccination week on 20 April 2013. The ceremony started with a speech by the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC) director highlighting the role of immunization in saving lives followed by a message by the WHO representative in Libya stressing on the commitment of countries to eliminate measles in 2015.

Presentations topics included increasing the coverage of vaccinations in Libya in line with the WHO guidelines. An exhibition of the contributions of vaccine production pharmaceutical companies took place immediately after the ceremony.
