18 December 2019 – On 16 December the vaccination team immunizing children carried out the campaign in the border village of Tfeil. The national measles campaign carried out by the Ministry of Public Health, with the support of WHO and UNICEF, covers the areas of Akkar, North, and Baalbeck-Hermel governorates and will run until 22 December 2019.

The teams on the ground are vaccinating children between the ages of 6 months and 10 years in schools, dispensaries, health care centres, and mobile clinics free of charge. This campaign is made possible by donations from the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development which aims to halt measles transmission in Lebanon.
