The medications will serve around 500 insulin dependent diabetic patients in need, benefiting from the Ministry of Public Health essential medications programme at primary health care centres.

The provision of insulin came as a rapid response to shortages observed at the level of primary health care centres caused by the sudden and rapid demand on insulin, engendered by the large influx of Syrian refugees.

Provision was made possible with the generous contribution of the European Union under the Instrument for Stability project which is led by the Ministry of Public Health, funded by the European Union and implemented by the World Health Organization, in partnership with the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Refugees.
