12 February 2012 – The continued collaboration between the Ministry of Health and Population and the WHO country office was reinforced though a meeting on 12 February between the Regional Director of the WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean, the Minister of Health and Population and the WHO Representative in Egypt.

The most important activities and programmes in process and the collaboration between the Ministry and WHO were discussed. The major components of the Joint Programme Review Mission for 2012–2013 were focused on including the STEPwise survey, the establishment of a technical consultative committee on viral hepatitis in collaboration with the Centers for Diseases Control and Prevention (CDC) and the implementation of International Health Regulations in Egypt.
