WHO_supports_MOHP_releaseing_new_guidlines_photo21 February – WHO in Egypt has provided support to the Ministry of Health and Population in the development of 4 new sets of guidelines for use by workers in the Endemic Disease Directorate in the Ministry.

The guidelines are on:

  • snail control
  • vector control
  • schistosomiasis and soil-transmitted helminths
  • management of malaria, filariasis, and leishmaniasis.

The guidelines have been produced for use by health care workers at different levels of the system.

Egypt eliminated lymphatic filariasis as a public health problem in 2017 and the Ministry is working closely with WHO to reach the ambitious goal of eliminating malaria and schistosomiasis as public health problems.
