7 June 2023 – Egypt has received the largest number of displaced people from Sudan to date. According to the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, 164 000 Sudanese migrants have crossed into Egypt as of 28 May. The number of border arrivals is estimated to be increasing with a daily average of 6500 individuals crossing the border per day, mostly older people, women and children.
