23 August 2016 – A training of trainers of the National Expanded Programme on Immunization workshop was conducted over 6 days from 23 to 28 July 2016, in Alexandria, aiming at building the capacity of EPI officers to strengthen routine immunization activities in Egypt.

This workshop was conducted in joint coordination and collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Population of Egypt and the Eastern Mediterranean Public Health Network (EMPHNET).

The workshop was implemented with the technical inputs of WHO staff from the vaccine preventable disease programme and Dr John Jabbour, WHO Representative in Egypt. Dr Amr Kandeel, First Undersecretary for Preventive Sector, Ministry of Health and Population of Egypt inaugurated the event.
