HRH Prince Hassan Bin Talal's visit to CEHA

HRH Prince Hassan Bin Talal and Dr Basel Al-YousfiGolden LEED Certificate handed to HRH by Dr Basel Al Yousfi, Director, CEHA HRH Prince Hassan bin Talal visited the Regional Centre for Environmental Health Activities (CEHA) to attend a lecture with graduate students from Harvard University at the WHO premises on 23 January 2014. Discussion focused on international relations and strategic planning, with a focus on public health and refugees.

Thereafter, HRH visited and expressed his admiration for the WHO green building. A detailed explanation about the building’s environmentally friendly features and specifications were provided by the Regional Centre for Environmental Health Action (CEHA).

The WHO premises in Amman is first building in Jordan and the first UN building in in the entire Region to be awarded the Gold LEED (Leadership in Environmental and Energy Design) Certificate by the USA Green Building Council.

The building was opened in 2011, with engineering design and operations entailing specifications pertinent to energy efficiency, water conservation, emissions reduction, waste minimization, healthy indoor environment and cost savings.

The Golden LEED Certificate was handed to HRH by Dr Basel Al Yousfi, Director of the Centre.
