Print PDF

4 October 2010 – Reproductive health surveillance, data collection, analysis and reporting are still inadequate and ineffective in many countries of the WHO Eastern Mediterranean Region. In response, the WHO Regional Office has published a regional framework for monitoring and evaluation of reproductive health programmes.

The framework, with 34 Region-specific monitoring indicators, provides a guide to strengthening technical capacity in Member States in obtaining relevant and reliable data and information to monitor, evaluate and inform national reproductive health programmes. Technical assistance has also been provided by the Regional Office to 18 countries in developing national workplans for strengthening capacity in monitoring and evaluation.
