A regional consultative meeting on promoting reproductive and sexual health was held in Beirut, Lebanon, from 8 to 11 December 2003. The meeting was co-sponsored by the WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean in collaboration with the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS), Intercountry Team for the Middle East and North Africa. Staff from UNAIDS, the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees in the Near East (UNWRA), family planning associations in Lebanon and the Syrian Arab Republic, and International Federation Of Medical Students’ Associations (IFMSA) participated.
