Development of malaria diagnosis guidelines

A WHO mission took place from 27 to 31 October 2013 to provide support in updating malaria diagnosis guidelines. Early and accurate diagnosis of malaria is important for both malaria surveillance and management of the disease. Oman is seen as a model in the Region in its efforts on malaria elimination. However, given the country’s close ties with endemic countries in east Africa and the Indian subcontinent, malaria diagnosis remains a top priority.
