An intercountry meeting to introduce the United Nations OneHealth costing tool will take place at the WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean, Cairo, Egypt, from 2 to 6 September 2012.

The OneHealth costing tool is a software-based tool designed to strengthen health systems’ analysis, costing and financing scenarios, at country level. It enables countries to estimate and plan, in the context of national and subnational health systems, the cost of implementing health strategies and plans.

This new inter-agency costing tool was launched in 2011. The meeting will introduce the OneHealth tool to experts involved in national health planning and costing from the countries of the Region. National experts will be coming from Iraq, South Sudan and Sudan, and two regional experts are coming from Lebanon and Tunisia.
