World Health Day 2020
In this International Year of the Nurse and the Midwife, World Health Day 2020 will shine a spotlight on the vital role they play in providing quality health and social care, under the slogan “Support nurses and midwives”. The campaign will be used to mobilize action and encourage investments to strengthen the nursing and midwifery workforce.
Nursing and midwifery in the Region
Nurses and midwives make up more than half the global health workforce. The Eastern Mediterranean Region continues to face shortages of well-prepared nurses and midwives with the needed skills and competencies to provide quality health services.
