Decentralized health cluster approach As part of the efforts of the health cluster in Somalia to decentralize
coordination at national, zonal and regional level, the health cluster has
appointed focal agencies for Somaliland, Puntland and every region in South
Central Somalia (see below list). The linkage of field level and
Nairobi-based coordination aims to enhance the efficiency of emergency
response by avoiding duplication of activities, emphasizing the potential of
local capacities, and facilitating inter-agency support and partnerships.
WHO regularly
develops and updates maps covering various health related topics,
including health facility mapping, AWD morbidity and mortality
trends, health cluster focal agencies, mapping of particular health
services such as TB or EmOC.
