"Transforming health systems: gender and rights in reproductive health" is an adaptation workshop based at the Institute for Women, Gender and Development Studies, Ahfad University for Women, Khartoum, Sudan. The course is part of a global initiative to increase the number of programme managers, planners, policy-makers and trainers with both a gender and a rights perspective in reproductive health.

The workshop seeks to ensure that the training tools and standards used in the curriculum are in line with the sociocultural norms and values prevailing in countries of the WHO Eastern Mediterranean Region. The workshop is a collaboration between WHO and Ahfad University and has been conducted on an annual basis since 2004. It has been attended by health staff from Afghanistan, Ethiopia, Morocco, Nigeria, Sudan, the United Republic of Tanzania, and Yemen.
