You will improve your public speaking, presentation, and discussion skills, and the positive feedback and constructive criticism from other participants and facilitators will help you take your research to the next level.

2. Networking for future collaborations

Attending EMARIS 2019 will allow you to network with leading academics and experts in your field from around the Region and indeed worldwide, including from the World Health Organization, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control, Morocco’s Ministry of Health, the Oman Medical Journal, and many, many more. You will learn about the latest scientific discoveries, advances, and technological breakthroughs, and the mix of cutting-edge experts and young researchers will provide you with access to both deep expertise and knowledge on the one hand, and new ideas and fresh energy on the other.

3. Publication

Accepted abstracts for EMARIS 2019 also qualify for publication in the Oman Journal of Medicine, the medical journal that is published six times a year by the Oman Medical Specialty Board, and distributed free to all medical doctors and allied health professionals in various institutions locally and internationally.

4. Update your expertise and build your skills

Anyone who wishes to survive and excel in an academic discipline must continue to sharpen one's tools, skills and expertise. EMARIS 2019 will keep you updated on the newest developments, as well as provide expert-taught workshops on a range of topics from increasing vaccine coverage, to data quality, scientific writing, threshold calculation, epidemiological analysis of surveillance data, and outbreak investigation techniques.

All EMARIS 2019 attendees are dedicated to progress in the field of Acute Respiratory Infection, but they have many different (multi- and inter-disciplinary) sub-fields of study.
