The Ministry of Health of Oman hosted the WHO regional meeting for nutrition focal points in Muscat from 23 to 25 September 2013. The main purpose of the meeting was to support Member States in the Region to develop 2-year national action plans for nutrition to address the double burden of malnutrition in line with global initiatives to scale up nutrition and address diet-related noncommunicable disease risk factors. Participants from countries in the Region and representatives of international organizations and academia attended the meeting.
