Oman’s 20-year cancer incidence report, 1996-2015

ec82be14-dc3f-49e6-97e9-8e46290b2f5aOn Wednesday 30 October 2019, the Ministry of Health of Oman, Department of Non-Communicable Diseases, Cancer Registry launched Oman’s 20-year cancer incidence report, 1996–2015.

The launch was conducted under the patronage of HE Dr Ahmed Al Saidi, Minister of Health, and in the presence of Dr Ahmed Al Mandhari, WHO Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean, and Dr Akjemal Magtymova, WHO Representative to Oman.

This unique report marks the 20th anniversary since the cancer registry has started releasing its first annual cancer incidence report. It depicts the overall information on the most common cancers in Oman in the past 20 years, common cancers in both male and female Omanis and the prevailing trends for these diseases in various age groups.
