A WHO Mission visited Oman from 9 to 13 November 2014 to review the draft Omani Guidelines in Environmental Health Impact Assessment and guide on their implementation. The mission recognized that in the past 15 years steps have been made to integrate environmental impact assessment (EIA) with environmental health impact assessment (EHIA) in Oman. Now, the time in ripe to accelerate these efforts and noted that both the Ministry of Environment and Climate Affairs and Ministry of Health are ready to ensure its implementation. A clear plan and relevant tools were developed during the mission to guide the establishment of an efficient and effective integrated assessment programme.
