A one-week WHO mission from 30 June to 4 July 2012 was conducted to provide technical support to the Ministry of Health of Oman in conducting an in-depth review of the current situation of medical waste management. The mission proposed a framework for the medical waste management programme at central and regional levels, including the development of a national policy and guidelines on healthcare waste management.
