First training on pharmacy inspection

Print PDF

A WHO mission visited Oman from 18 to 22 January 2015 to conduct a training on community pharmacy’s inspection and assist the Ministry of Health in developing a plan to strengthen this process.

The training included both the theoretical aspects of pharmaceutical inspection as well as hands-on guidance, including practical sessions in the field. Nearly forty pharmacists from around the country participated in this first training on pharmacy inspection.

Inspection of pharmacies is an important component in ensuring the quality, safety and efficacy of the drug circulating in a country. Drug inspection involves the monitoring of quality throughout the drug distribution network, from manufacturing to utilization.
