El Nozha El Gadida Medical Center

El Nozha El Gadida  Medical Center in Cairo is a primary health centre with a catchment population of just under 100,000 people.  It offers services for maternal and child health and family health.

Abbassia Chest Hospital

The Abbassia Chest hospital in Cairo offers specialized care for the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory conditions. 5 Process Improvement Coordinators and 7 site team members selected 3 problems that were widely recognized as key obstacles facing the hospital in the delivery of quality health services.

Central Health Laboratories

The Central Health Laboratories play a crucial role in supporting clinical diagnosis in Cairo and countrywide acting as a reference centre for over 4000 laboratories across Egypt.  Its work is essential in disease surveillance, environmental health, food safety and policy development. 

Manshyet Nasser District

Manshyet Nasser is a densely populated area of Cairo with approximately 190,000 residents.  The poor quality of housing, inadequate waste disposal and the common activity of garbage collection are some of the factors which have led to a high prevalence of tuberculosis.  MEP in this case is being implemented within an entire district.

El Salam Medical Center

El Salam Medical Center provides a ranges of preventive and curative health services including those for the prevention and treatment of communicable and non-communicable diseases  and chronic illness, family planning,  immunization, pre- and antenatal care, health education, and laboratory services.

Nasr City Medical Center

Nasr City Medical Center in Cairo is a primary health centre offering specialized and general medical care in several outpatients clinics.  Specifically, it provides services for maternal and child health and family health. Services include

  • Immunization and vaccination services;

  • Monitoring of child growth and development;

  • Family planning, prenatal care, post natal care and health education;

  • Communicable and non communicable diseases treatment and control;

  • Births and deaths registration.

Projects:

The National Blood Bank

The National Blood Bank of Egypt has a major role in coordinating activities relating to the collection, storage and retrieval of blood throughout the country.  These include: coordination of regional and district centre activities, setting standards for techniques, equipment, and reagent utilization, purchasing of equipment and reagents, training blood transfusion staff, and conducting reference and confirmatory testing.
