Simulation_of_World_Health_AssemblyStudents took part in a simulation of WHO's World Health Assembly, the decision-making body of WHO which is attended by delegations from all WHO Member States and focuses on a specific health agenda prepared by WHO's Executive Board

29 January 2019 – From 25 to 27 January 2019, Saint Joseph University, in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health and WHO and supported by ABAAD, organized for the first time an initiative in which students studying various disciplines from different universities across Lebanon, took part in a simulation of WHO's World Health Assembly in Lebanon. The main theme of the event was mental health but several global health issues were discussed by the 38 students taking part.

During the 3-day simulation, each delegate used their skills in diplomacy by taking on either the role of a delegate of one of WHO's Member States, a nongovernmental organization representative, or a press correspondent.

The main goal of the simulation was to introduce a model of experience-based learning and student engagement in global health diplomacy and allow students to develop their leadership, public speaking, conflict management and debate skills. Throughout the simulation, participants discussed different facets of mental health and developed feasible resolutions.
