The kits being delivered in Tehran

28 February 2022 – WHO has provided 1480 SARS-CoV-2 kits to support research on SARS-CoV-2 in the Islamic Republic of Iran, procured with financial support from Germany. The kits are a quick, convenient and accurate research tool for the measuring of immune responses to COVID-19 vaccines in different target populations.

The US$ 700 000 consignment was officially handed over to the Pasteur Institute of Tehran last week by WHO team members. It includes 1470 ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) kits and 10 Elecsys kits, both used in the detection and quantification of antibodies against SARS-COV-2, which will enable the performance of 143 120 individual reactions.
