The WHO Global Blood Safety Network has organized to take place in Sao Paulo, Brazil, between 7 and 8 March 2013. The objective of the meeting is to identify ways to improve collaboration between the various members of the network and develop a synergistic approach in supporting blood safety activities at global, regional and country level. The outcome of this meeting will also guide WHO work plans on blood safety for the next biennium of 2014–2015.

The Global Blood Safety Network consists of WHO collaborating centres, institutions with an interest in collaborating with WHO and acquiring future collaborating centre status and selected expert panel members.
