EMHJ is delighted to announce the publication of the first issue of 2010 (Vol. 16 No. 1) in its new design and monthly periodicity. This issue comprises articles from 8 countries of the Region on a diverse range of topics. It includes papers related to neonatal health, which is critical to the achievement of Millennium Development Goal 4 (two-thirds reduction by 2015 of the 1990 mortality rates among children under 5 years) and reproductive health. Also included, in the area of communicable diseases, are papers on hepatitis B and C and HIV, while in the field of noncommunicable diseases there are articles on diabetes and coronary heart disease.
