Document Delivery Services
As part of the development of the Virtual Health Sciences Library of the Eastern Mediterranean Region, the Regional Office has decided to provide support to selected health sciences libraries in the Region by providing these libraries with original copies of the Ariel software.
The software along with a scanner maybe used as a basic tool for document delivery services using the Internet or e-mail.

For a library to be eligible for this support, the following has to be adhered to: 

  1. The Library should be attached to a health care and/or medical education institution located in a member state of the WHO Eastern Mediterranean Region;
  2. The Library should fill in the Medical Library Directory Form to update the Directory Database. The Form maybe downloaded, printed, filled and faxed to EMRO
  3. The Library should provide the Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean with a list of journals holdings in electronic format and according to the specifications of the Union List Database with a clear commitment to update the list regularly. The Database maybe viewed at http://www.emro.who.int/his/unlist/default.asp
  4. The Library should sign the Inter-Library and Document Delivery Agreement. The Agreement maybe downloaded, printed, signed and faxed to EMRO. The form is available in English and French.
