This fact sheet examines: Egypt’s existing tobacco tax system; the new tax change that became effective on 1 July 2010; and its implications on generating more revenues for the government and improving public health by reducing tobacco consumption.
Tobacco industry activities in Pakistan: 1992–2002

This report describes the activities of international tobacco companies in
Pakistan from 1992 to 2002 in five key areas:
(a) the economics of tobacco;
(b) smuggling of cigarettes into Pakistan;
(c) the influence of the tobacco
industry on science;
(d) sports sponsorship by the tobacco industry; and
(e) the effect of tobacco industry activities on health equity.
