WHO participates in international conference on seafood safety, quality and traceability systems

WHO participated in an international conference on seafood safety, quality and traceability systems from 3 to 5 March 2014 in Muscat, Oman. This conference, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries Wealth, provided a forum to exchange ideas and information regarding seafood quality and public health. WHO contributed as a keynote speaker on the theme of seafood hazards and contaminants.

The conference provided a forum for those interested in the seafood sector to promote the exchange of ideas and information, foster interaction, understanding and professional collaboration among individuals, organizations, and governments, disseminate knowledge about fish, seafood, and fishery products inspection, and promote the advancement of fisheries research and education for the benefit international seafood trade and the scientific community.
