Lebanon has faced a complex humanitarian and health crisis in recent years, driven by escalating conflict, population displacement, and economic collapse. Since October 2023, hostilities in the country have caused widespread damage to health infrastructure, disrupted the provision of essential services and increased humanitarian needs. Generating relevant, current evidence and documenting lessons learned from responding to the crises is essential to inform future preparedness and evidence-informed decision-making in the country and across the region.
The WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean is proposing a special issue of the Eastern Mediterranean Health Journal (EMHJ) on the response to the health and humanitarian crises in Lebanon.

Manuscripts for this special issue can be developed and submitted as original research articles, short research communication, reviews, reports, commentaries, letters to the editor, and policy briefs addressing the impact of the crises in Lebanon on healthcare.
