Symposium on hyperbaric medicine in Saudi Arabia

On 27 August the Health Outreach Services Department of the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre will give a live broadcast to the WHO Regional Office and hospitals in Sudan, occupied Palestinian territory and Jordan on hyperbaric medicine to advance hyperbaric medicine practice in the Middle East.

The target audience for the telecast are: hospital directors/administrators, doctors, nurses, engineers, technicians and allied health professionals.

King Faisal Specialist Hospital, in collaboration with the WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean, is working to disseminate information related to the use of information and communication technology for health. The main objectives of this initiative are to increase adoption of eHealth among the health workforce in the Region and raise the awareness of new ICT technologies and the best approaches to utilizing this technology. The initiative will include periodical lectures and webinars presented by international experts in the domain of eHealth covering topics related to telemedicine, mobile health (m-Health), health information systems, big data, building evidence for e-Health, interoperability, legal and ethical issues, developing national eHealth strategies and others.

The initiative also represents a starting point towards establishing a digital library of knowledge for the Eastern Mediterranean eHealth Information Network.
