Dubai Logistics Hub
WHO has reached more than 20 million people in 70 countries across the world with emergency medical supplies in 2023, through its logistics hub in Dubai. In some of the most dire humanitarian crises in the region, such as the 2023 earthquakes in Afghanistan and Syria, and the escalation of conflict in Sudan, WHO has been the first agency with supplies on ground because of swift deliveries from the hub.

Download the appealThe WHO Eastern Mediterranean Region is plagued by emergencies. It is home to some of the most vulnerable people in the world, deprived of their most basic rights to life, dignity, and access to life-saving health care.
Fragile health gains are lost as health becomes entangled in politics and as the public health impacts of the climate crisis grow more severe.
In 2024, more than 140 million people in the Region – almost 20% of the regional population – need humanitarian assistance. This represents 40% of all people in need globally.
As part of its global Health Emergency Appeal for 2024, WHO requires US$ 709 million to respond to the needs of people whose lives, health and well-being, and livelihoods have been devastated by major emergencies in the Eastern Mediterranean Region.
