In collaboration with the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the WHO Health Emergencies Programme, the WHO Regional Centre for Environmental Health Action conducted a regional training of trainers session on foodborne disease outbreak investigation.

The training was delivered in June 2021 via zoom over 4 days with the participation of 8 countries in the Eastern Mediterranean Region: Bahrain, Jordan, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia and United Arab Emirates.

The workshop aimed to enable future trainers to deliver training in foodborne and waterborne outbreak investigation in their countries of origin and tailor the content of the training to national contexts and establish a network of public health specialists, scientists, and food safety professionals in the Region to share and disseminate knowledge and experience.
