Nutrition experts from Sudan’s Ministry of Health, and WHO, taught the participants about proper treatment of malnutrition in children between 6 and 59 months old, including about how to handle medical complications.

The newly trained health workers will transfer their knowledge through a series of trainings to other health and nutrition workers in the health facilities of Darfur states, reaching out to malnourished children. By doing so, they will play a key role in reducing child mortality, especially among the complicated severely acute malnourished children of refugee and host communities in North, East, South, and Central Darfur states.
