18 October 2021 – Dr Jean Jabbour, WHO Representative in Oman, and the WHO country office team recently visited the Emergency Management Centre at the Omani Ministry of Health.

Dr Rashid Al Badi, Director of the Centre briefed the WHO team on the health emergency system, the role of the centre during health emergencies, the progress made since the establishment of the Centre in 2014 and the challenges it faces.

He highlighted that the Centre functions as a centralized location for the coordination and control of health-related emergency response activities. Dr Jabbour, commended the efforts of the Centre's team, and lauded their dedication and commitment towards achieving the vision of a strong emergency response in the country.
