Response to the 2007 call for applications

The selection of research priorities was based upon the challenges facing the various diseases control programmes. These were developed in collaboration with the technical units in the division of communicable diseases, WHO/EMRO. (Fifteen call for applications)

In response to the 2007 call for applications, 193 proposals were submitted in the following diseases: 42 in tuberculosis, 36 in HIV and sexually transmitted diseases, 32 in leishmaniasis, 14 in malaria, 17 in hepatitis B and C, 9 in vaccine preventable diseases, 6 in brucellosis, 5 in vector control, and the rest in meningitis, CCHF, avian influenza, filariasis, African Trypanosomiasis, rabies, echinococcosis, and dengue.
