This workshop was a part of the global exercise for the development of the Global Plan to Stop Tuberculosis, 2006-2015. The same planning and costing methodologies that were used for the global exercise were used for the planning exercise in the nine countries with high burden of tuberculosis in the Region. The countries identified the overall strategic directions and the cost needed to stop tuberculosis in the next 10 years by achieving the targets for tuberculosis control including the one specified in the Millennium Development Goals.
