Behind the Scenes
The project team has held series of meetings in the premises of NTP center
with Rotaract and Worldwide Health Forums NGOs. The meetings aimed to define
the role of each partner in organizing the event and to brainstorm possible
activities to run along the event. Multiple simulation visits to Al-Azhar
Park was done before the event to ensure good organization.
The planning encompassed meetings conducted for the appointed TB
representatives in the directorates in all governorates. The meetings
sensitized the idea and discussed the possible activities that can be held
in Cultural palaces and Universities in collaboration with Medical Students’
Association (IFMSA-Egypt). The resulting ideas were to organize concerts
everywhere through which Stop TB songs would be song.

The Final Touches
A press conference was held in the office of the health minister’s
spokesman; Dr. Abdelrahman Shahin. It was attended by more than
20representatives of the famous newsletters. A press release covering the
details of the Event was distributed to all attendees.
Preparations
The NTP team members and the members of organizing committee started the
preparation the day before the event through reviewing the Rehearsals of the
shows. And at the evening they followed up the theatre setup processes. At
the morning of the event day, the NTP Team started following up setting up
the games. The Festival was conducted under theme of “ Health, game, and
Song” and included several entertainment activities started with games for
infants and youth and ended by a concert leaded by Mahmoud El-Eseily and
during which STOP Song was sung.

The participants had a free chance to play a group of funny games during
which health messages were delivered to both young children and youth.
Competitions and quizzes were also conducted while participants were
playing.

Islamic Advices for Health Promotion
The Young Famous Scholar and television celebrity (Mehwar satellite
channel); Shereif Shehatah had attended the festival and conducte a ten
minute talk about the importance of health promotion from Islamic
prospective .

The Ceremonies
At 2:00 pm, all the participants gathered at the festival ground in a wide
field in front of the lake side. More than 2000 young individuals
representing many youth organizations, universities and schools in addition
to usual visitors started playing the games. The program included sliding
game, climbing tower, bowling, air hokey, racing against resistance, and a
group of different small games.

After the sunset, the concert ceremonies started with Stop TB song followed
by a group of songs and sketches for children then, the famous singers;
Mostafa Mahmoud, Ahmed Ali Alhaggar, and Mahmoud al Eseily.
In between, Innovators in the field of TB control were honored.
