World AIDS Day 2012

Print PDF

World AIDS Day is observed on 1 December.

It starts with a HIV test KNOW BETTER LIVE BETTERInside Somalia WHO is working with partners in support of events in the three zones commemorating the day. Our support is in line with the theme adapted to the Eastern Mediterranean region by WHO and UNAIDS  “It starts with an HIV test: Know Better, Live Better”

 Brochure (Somali)

 Poster (Somali)

This is an adaptation of the Global Theme agreed globally with partners under UNAIDS, which is: "Getting to zero: Zero new HIV infections. Zero discrimination. Zero AIDS-related deaths".

WHO is taking this opportunity to focus on the UN goal of getting 15 million people on antiretroviral treatment by 2015. A Key step in that process is HIV testing and counseling, the entry point to HIV care and treatment.
